Fitness gains. Triathletes and cyclists attend training camps for the undisputed fitness benefits they provide. This is especially true on the bike where you can make big gains in a short period of time. You probably don’t have time in your busy life to ride for 2-4 hours on multiple consecutive days AND to recover well between these rides. A block of bike training at a camp will always lead to a bump in fitness afterwards that would take weeks or even months to build through your regular training.
Improved mental toughness. You will have the opportunity to do things you didn’t know you could do. Like longer rides or bigger climbs or back-to-back big rides. You will pack more volume into a few days than you realized you could handle. It is very common to surprise yourself at a camp and to gain confidence in your athletic abilities. You will leave with improved mental resilience and more tools in your mental toolbox to use in training and racing.
Gain skills and knowledge. At a coached camp like ours you will improve your skills and learn new things. What is a “coached camp”? It’s one that isn’t just about putting in big miles but also has a focus on education and learning. It will have a low coach-to-athlete ratio and the coaches will be giving you instruction, feedback and hands-on coaching, not just shepherding you along the routes. You will improve your bike handling skills from practicing climbing, descending and cornering. You might make some tweaks to your swim stroke or run form which lead to efficiency and speed gains. And you will gain insights into topics like fueling and equipment choices.
Visit cool destinations. Many camps, like ours, are held in beautiful locations with great weather and stunning scenery. Escape cold or wet winters with us in the beautiful desert landscape of Tucson. Or join us in the cycling paradise of the Spanish island of Mallorca where you will get a side of history and culture with your training!
Time to yourself. Training camps don’t just give you an opportunity to do more training, they also give you some much needed downtime. Away from your job, your family and the stresses of everyday life, there will be time to relax and unwind. Quiet time to yourself to read a book or just do nothing! You won’t be rushing around between the workouts. This allows you to recover better and benefit more from the training.
Hassle-free. At an all-inclusive camp like ours then everything will be taken care of for you. No need to worry about airport transfers, finding accommodation, planning or preparing meals or cleaning up afterwards. No need to look for pools or to try to figure out bike or run routes and worry about getting lost or ending up on dangerous roads.
Spend time with like-minded athletes. Camps are an opportunity to bond with your team mates, to spend time with friends and to meet new people. All the workouts are group workouts. You know those really fun workouts you have with your favorite training buddies? The runs or rides where you solve the world’s problems together while the miles just tick by? Or the workouts where you conquer something hard together? The suffering made easier by sharing it as you keep each other going? Every workout at a training camp is like one of these! And every day at camp you get to hang out and share stories with people who shared the experience with you. Just like that fun social time after a workout or race. Go with your training buddies to spend quality time together. Or go alone and meet new people who will become life long friends!
FUN! The best reason to go on a training camp is that they are fun! You get to play at swimming, biking and running every day and you get to do it with buddies! That’s why we call our camps “summer camp for adults”.
Not all camps are created equal. If you want ALL of these things, from chef-prepared meals to hands-on coaching from coaches with decades of experience, then our camps are the only option. We have camps in 2026 in Tucson, AZ in February and Mallorca, Spain in April. Come and join us to build fitness, confidence, friendships and memories that will last for years to come.
