You’ve secured your spot at the iconic Downieville Classic. Now give yourself the best chance of showing up well prepared and ready to race. The difference between just surviving Downieville and racing it with confidence comes down to preparation. Having expert coaches in your corner to guide you, a training plan that works and a supportive group to help keep you accountable and motivated will enable you to show up feeling confident, ready to race hard AND to have fun!
Success at Downieville lies in cracking all the pieces of the puzzle. Endurance, skills, mindset, race strategy, gear, nutrition, heat, altitude. It’s a lot to consider but, with our support, you will line up in Sierra City in August knowing that your body and mind are ready and you have confidence in your skills, gear and race plan.

What’s included?
🔹 A 6 month training plan starting on February 1, specifically created to meet the unique demands of this race and designed to fit in with your life
🔹 A personal intro call with us to allow us to adjust the plan according to your life, goals and training/racing experience
🔹 Monthly group calls on specific topics (e.g. training, nutrition, gear, mindset, skills). These calls will include time for Q&As and will be recorded so that you can access them afterwards if you are unable to attend live.
🔹 Four coached group training rides in the Bay Area. Each ride will have a specific focus that translates directly to success at the Downieville Classic (e.g. pacing, climbing, descending while fatigued, skills). (All rides will have a women’s only option.)
🔹 A course recon weekend. We will pre-ride key sections of the course with a focus on line choice, pacing strategy and fueling practice. We provide the coaching, you arrange your own accommodation and meals. (Date in June or July TBD to accommodate the majority of the group.)
🔹 A pre-race course ride + meet-up to discuss race strategy and tactics. This will be an opportunity to calm your nerves and dial in the final details of your race plan.
🔹 Support via email from us for questions about the training plan or other aspects of the race
🔹 Membership of a WhatsApp group with your coaches and other group members

This program is perfect for you if:
🔹 You’ve signed up for either the XC (one day) or All Mountain (two day) race and you want a structured training plan to get you ready to race.
🔹 You want the camaraderie, support and accountability of a community all chasing the same goal.
🔹 You have great MTB skills but you would benefit from advice and support on all the other pieces of the Downieville puzzle such as endurance training, mindset, nutrition and dealing with the heat and altitude.
🔹 You want to race hard and have fun pushing your limits, not just make it to the end in survival mode!
