2019 Triathlon Mini-Camp

July 19-21, 2019, Folsom CA

Are you an enthusiastic triathlete who wants to learn and improve? Do you want to benefit from in person coaching from experienced triathlon coaches? Would you like your swim, bike and run form analyzed? Do you like training and socializing in a fun group environment with like-minded triathletes? Do you like eating good food after training?

This camp is brought to you by Emma Briggs & Kyle Hamilton. Both accomplished triathletes who love to help others achieve their goals, Emma is a coach with Purple Patch Fitness and multiple-time Kona qualifier/finisher. Kyle is a qualified USAT and USMS coach, Xterra World Championship qualifier/finisher and 4 x Ironman.  

This camp includes:

  • A personal interview before camp to understand your goals and current training and race plans

  • Coaching in all aspects of swim, bike and run with an emphasis on skills and form

  • Individual swim stroke analysis and feedback on biking and running form with videos taken during the camp and sent to you afterwards with feedback

  • Two swim sessions (1 x pool, 1 x open water), two bike sessions (1 x skills-based, 1 x long ride) and two run sessions

  • Educational sessions covering transitions, nutrition and recovery and basic bike mechanics (e.g. how to fix a flat!)

  • Opportunities for Q & A with the coaches and networking/socializing with other athletes

  • Two dinners and two lunches, designed and prepared by Head Chef Kyle especially for triathletes

Day 1: Friday, July 19, 2019 (afternoon only)

Swim: coached pool swim workout to include:

- Swim stroke instruction

- open water swim skills

- Individual swim stroke analysis

Snacks

Run: coached run with a focus on form and skills

Dinner hosted by Endurance Explorers

Day 2: Saturday, July 20, 2019

Open water swim session with an opportunity to practice skills and race simulation situations

Nutrition discussion (will cover fueling strategies for racing and training for all distance races from sprint to Ironman)

Lunch

2-3 hour ride to include hill repeats as well as extensive bike handling and skills-based instruction with a focus on form and technique

Recap discussion of swim/bike/run skills learning and opportunity for Q & A with the coaches

Day 3: Sunday, July 21, 2019

Transition clinic and basic bike mechanics (how to fix a flat included!)

Long ride with opportunities to practice bike handling and skills. will include plenty of climbing and descending in the beautiful country roads around Folsom, CA. There will be shorter and longer route options to accommodate all athletes.

Final wrap-up and Q & A over a light lunch/snacks
